How are the savings calculated?
Each tip uses your home size, household, heating type and the energy prices for your country or region. The percentages and figures come from public sources such as ENERGY STAR, the Energy Saving Trust, the Umweltbundesamt, Eurostat, the U.S. EIA and Ofgem. Tap “Where this number comes from” on a tip to see the exact source and date.
Why do some tips show “up to” instead of an exact amount?
When no reliable source gives an exact figure, we show an upper estimate instead of a precise-looking number. These tips still count towards your total with the middle of the range.
My electricity or gas price is different
Prices in the app are national or regional averages. Open “Other country” on the home screen, go to the energy step and enter the price per kWh (or per therm in the US) from your own bill. Every figure is recalculated from it.
How do I change my country, state or home details?
Tap “Other country” in the top left of the home screen. The setup opens from the first step; your plan and achievements are kept. Each country keeps its own plan.
Why doesn’t the heat pump pay back for me?
Where gas is cheap compared with electricity, a heat pump can cost more to run than a modern gas boiler. The app uses your real prices and shows this honestly. Grants, a heat pump tariff or replacing oil or electric heating change the result.
A grant or programme is out of date
Programmes change often. Each one shows the date we last checked it and links to the official page, which always has the final word. Please let us know and we’ll update it.
Do I need an account? Where is my data?
No account is needed. Everything you enter stays on your iPhone and is never sent to us. See the privacy policy.
How do I remove a tip from my plan?
In My plan, press and hold a tip and choose “Remove from plan”. Tapping the tick on a done tip moves it back to Planned.
Which countries are supported?
The United States (all 50 states and DC), the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), Germany, Austria, Poland, Croatia and Slovakia. In “Any other country” you enter your own prices and currency.
